Here’s Molly hard at work in the studio…
We’ve finally completed the studio, however you never know what I might do in the future and there’s always room for more books! If you scroll all the way down this page and then come back up again, you’ll see the total transformation as it happened.
Welcome to my studio! Let me take you on a tour! I have a love of all things old, quirky, library like and fantasy. I’ve melded these things together so that I can have inspiration while I work and have also tried to configure the space in the best way possible for me to work in.
Here it is. It’s a rectangular space with a large entrance from the living room side and then the exit to the back yard. The black framed French doors are where we enter into the studio.
Molly and I would like to welcome you in..
To the left is the perfect place for a bit of storage, and a treasure box full of molly’s toys. Of course there needs to be a napping spot for Molly as well! I took advantage of this lovely wall and painted a mural to match my painting, “Serendipity”
To the right is my working space. It’s totally cozy and the perfect environment for me to create in.
A closer view. This is where I read, write my blog, sip some tea, dream of new paintings and, oh! also paint!
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
This was the last update before the studio was finished.
July/August 2017
After moving this chair that I love all over the studio, this is it’s forever home (I think)
I’ve made a little progress on the mural wall. At least my trees are pretty straight and ll the way up the wall!
I’ve been working on this wall a little at a time. It’s my goal to have the whole wall a corkboard wall. I like the messyness of looking at old art, new ideas, old sketches, art by other people etc.
May/June 2017
I basically flipped the room so that it’s more efficient.
A couple of horse sketches…
This wall of inspiration is coming along. I have old sketches up to remind me of where I started, I have some of my sons work. Lastly I have a couple pieces one of my favorite artists who does amazing faces, as well. (the beautiful bright colored girl) You can find her work at @raynedropart on IG
Just Molly girl hanging out not using her pillow.
A little tiny progress on the mural, but since I can’t climb any tall ladders yet, this is as far as it’s gone!
April 2017
Then I started to move in.
The all important character began to be layered in.
A temporary work space set up.
Molly moved in her things….
Yes Molly, you are cute.
Next I began putting together temporary storage.
