Tucked in, snug up against protective mountains, sitting next to a warm fire, while snow softly falls.
In the high mountains where I grew up, it was the most satisfied feeling at the end of a hard working fall season. It’s good when all the hay has been cut and hauled, the harvest has been stored away, firewood has been cut for winter, and all the livestock has been brought down from the high country to lower pastures. Now it’s time to settle in for the quiet sounds of winter, hot tea, books and a roaring fire.
