This lovely, little wall in my new dining room seemed perfect, for a pinterest addict, to do something very fun with.
I had a plan…..
Chalkboard paint(I did this before we moved the kiddo in so that it was well defumed when he came in)
After several more coats…..Hubby thought I was nuts, when I took this board, started banging on it with a hammer, chains and a screwdriver, then poured olive oil and coffee grounds on it and rubbed it in like stain…
Hubby loves the board now, even tho he thought I had lost, what little I had left of my mind!
I had collected a few things I thought would be perfect for this wall,
An antique frame that I’ve hauled all over the place for the past 17 years, a cool set of shelf brackets I found somewhere, my clock, the cabinet will be perfect for holding things. I added a few new coffee cups.
Next, a cool light fixture hubby put in for me!
My favorite part? the chain!
Then some flair…..
Now it’s the……
Time for some hot tea on this cold December morning…
Then for my dining window, I had wanted to make curtain rods out of pipe, but then I saw a post on pinterest….Target has curtain rods that look like pipes! And…..so much easier to install!
On that same pinterest post, the curtains? Painting drop cloths! (from home depot or lowe’s they’re $10.98 each, you can’t beat that price) They’re perfect! I love them! NO sewing, they’re really big, they drape beautifully and are neutral….perfect! This window isn’t finished yet. I will be adding a bamboo blind later, the summer sun will be pretty harsh on that window.
This is now Molly’s favorite spot, where she can watch all the goings on in her kingdom. (one must keep an eye out for marauders oh, and always keep a toy nearby)
