This year when I took a little time to reflect on what I’ve done and what I would like to accomplish in the new year, I found a few cracks in how I do things.  For one, it had been my goal for sometime, to have my own web-site, but I hadn’t done anything about it.  I decided to get it done and here we are, with my sparkly new web-site!  I love it!  In some ways, I’m glad that I took my time to get one set up.  Now, I have a body of work behind me that I can share with everyone.  It makes me feel good to see it all in one place.

The next thing, was my blogging.  I had let it go by the way side so, I set a goal to try to blog something once a week.  I realized that, since my son has so many health problems, what had interfered with my blogging was, that I was holding myself to a particular day in the week to write and post.  In my life, that just doesn’t work.  Now, I’ve read all the info on writing a blog and running an at home online business and it’s true, regularity is a must. However, it’s just not possible in my life.  My son will always be the priority and I will, every time drop the brush or stop typing  in order to care for him.  Every year I think ok, this is the year his health will level out and we will have a semblance of normalcy in our lives.  I of course continue to hope that, for his sake, but he continually has new health problems appear and we have to keep adjusting.  For this reason, my new adjusted goal, is to try to write once a week, but not necessarily on a particular day.

Then a new decision needed to be made.  Along with my new web-site comes the ability to blog right here in the web-site.  I’ve wanted to simplify and have everything mostly in one place but, I wasn’t sure about moving my blog from blogspot to over here.  After a few weeks of thinking about it, I feel it’s worth the change to start blogging here.  It makes things much easier and takes up less of my time so, I’m making that difficult decision right now.  This is my very first post in my new spot!  I hope that it will make it easier for you to follow me as well.  No skipping about on the internet!  Although,…. I highly recommend skipping about as much as you can(just not on ice).  It makes life so much more fun!  So, don’t quit skipping about on my account!  Just remember that my blog is over here now!

The last and next difficult thing was, when I took a hard look at how I use etsy, I found that, while I’ve enjoyed being in different teams, it was taking up too much of my time.  I think that teams work very well for people, who can stay on top of things, all of the time. What I’ve learned from selling my work in the last few years is that, art sells differently than most things.  Therefore, I decided to remove myself from most of the teams I was on in etsy, in order to focus more on the painting aspect of my business and let the business go where it would like.

I’ve been slowly working on a few paintings but the progress is minimal.  The kiddo had some more medical things to deal with, which means  I’ve not been at the easel a whole lot. Also, I’ve been painting the walls in my house.  I used a zero v.o.c.(volatile off gassing compounds)   paint and it has definitely cheered up our space!  I finished (mostly) with that, so I should have a little more time at the easel coming up.

I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind comments on facebook,  google+ and instagram supporting my art and especially sticking with me even tho I don’t show work as often as I would like.  I’m very grateful to all of you for understanding, that we have some extenuating circumstances.

I know that all of you, too have difficult things in your lives and I hope I can continue to bring you something to smile about, to dream about and to laugh over!  Have a lovely day out there people!

Someday we will all be able to accomplish our goals and live free of the burdens this upside down world throws at us. You have definitely had your share of unfair left hooks, but you always handle them with grace and courage and artistic whim.
